The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance (TPSA) Holds 2009 Conference
Albuquerque, NM site of the 9th Annual Conference

St. Louis, MO – “Environmental Stewardship” is a popular phrase used by the media these days, and for three days in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it was the “talk of the town.” The Pesticide Stewardship Alliance (TPSA), held its 9th Annual Conference at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, February 22-24, 2009. The theme of the conference was “Stewardship Strategies and Tools.”

One hundred and eleven conferees from 28 states and five countries participated in the meeting. Agenda topics addressed pesticide use reduction, waste management, soil fumigant management, Internet-based pesticide labeling, regulations on pesticide containers and containment, container recycling, ag film product stewardship, ag plastics management, pesticide disposal programs in the Southwest and Mexico, and domestic and international stewardship outreach.

The range of meeting topics reflects the diverse association membership with professionals from academia, governmental agencies, NGO’s, and private industry.

TPSA is headquartered in St. Louis, MO. Its mission is to improve pesticide stewardship efforts by increasing effectiveness and efficiency through proper labeling, judicious application, proper handling of containers and waste minimization.
